A law firm in Palo Alto, CA, is seeking a talented Patent Agent and Technical Specialist to join their intellectual property team. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics and have demonstrated expertise in patent application preparation and prosecution. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience, with a strong background in wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking.Duties:Prepare and prosecute patent applications, including drafting and amending claims and specifications.Conduct comprehensive technical analyses and evaluations related to wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking.Perform prior art searches and assess patentability of inventions.Collaborate with inventors, clients, and legal teams to develop and refine patent strategies and portfolios.Draft and review patent-related documents, including responses to office actions and other correspondence.Advise clients on intellectual property matters, including patentability, infringement, and freedom-to-operate issues.Monitor and analyze developments in patent laws and industry-specific technical advancements.Provide technical support during patent litigation and other intellectual property disputes.Manage multiple patent prosecution projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and efficient completion.Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution.Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics.Proven technical experience with wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking.Strong skills in patent application preparation and prosecution.Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.Effective organizational and time management skills.Superior verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Education:Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics.Certifications:Registration with the USPTO is required.Skills:Expertise in patent application preparation and prosecution.In-depth knowledge of wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking.Strong analytical and research capabilities.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.Proficiency in using patent and technical databases.Job Location:Benefits Offered:Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) plan with employer contributions.Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.Dynamic and collaborative work environment.
