A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced Patent Agent and Technical Specialist to join their intellectual property team. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics and demonstrate strong expertise in patent application preparation and prosecution. With at least 2 years of patent prosecution experience, the candidate should possess technical knowledge in wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking.Duties:Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications, including the preparation of claims, specifications, and responses to office actions.Conduct technical evaluations related to wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, and computer networking.Perform prior art searches and provide detailed assessments on patentability, infringement risks, and strategy.Collaborate with inventors, clients, and legal teams to develop and execute effective patent strategies.Review and analyze patent-related documents and correspondence, ensuring precision and compliance.Keep abreast of changes in patent laws, industry trends, and technological advancements to provide informed advice.Support patent litigation and intellectual property disputes with technical expertise and analysis.Manage multiple patent projects efficiently, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution.Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics.Demonstrated experience in patent application preparation and prosecution.Technical expertise in wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking.Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational abilities with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Certifications:Registration with the USPTO is required.Skills:Proficient in patent application preparation and prosecution.Technical knowledge in wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking.Strong analytical and research capabilities.Excellent organizational and project management skills.Effective communication skills, both oral and written.Experience with patent and technical databases.Job Location:Chicago, ILBenefits Offered:Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) plan with employer contributions.Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.Collaborative and supportive work environment.
