Job Description:

The Events Manager oversees the planning and implementation of firm-wide client and internal events. This position will own and manage all elements of an event from conception to measurement, including but not limited to project management, vendor negotiation and supervision, budget management and event logistics. Success in this role requires the ability to define an events strategy, set customer-centric event goals, provide excellent project management skills, and evaluate event performance. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, provide acute attention to detail, and work with agility in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The Events Manager should be passionate about delivering a compelling and innovative experience for McDermott’s clients and prospects.

As an Events Manager you will:

Oversee and administer the event planning and implementation process, including event project management, managing budgets, creating timelines and project plans and leading planning meetings to drive toward event goals.

Collaborate with business partners (i.e., lead partners, business development, marketing, event commercialization and event technology) to drive toward deliverables, and keep stakeholders informed.

Design engaging relevant event experiences that resonate with attending audiences and achieve key business objectives for both internal and external audiences.

Deliver a compelling and innovative experience for McDermott clients and prospects and work with agility in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Research and recommend prospective event themes, venues, and accompanying specifications, including the development of event budgets.

Manage vendor relationships with contacts from program venues and event and destination management companies.

Develop success measures to evaluate all major events against objectives, recommending areas for improvement.

Possess exceptional time management and organizational skills with a consistent record of success in planning, managing, and completing multiple events simultaneously.

Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and demonstrate strong critical thinking and active listening skills.

Job Specifications:

At least seven (7) years of related work experience.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).

Knowledge of Client Relationship Management (CRM) software.

Strong written and verbal communication and proofreading skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Strong motivational and leadership skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with chief-level executives and partners as well as outside vendors.

Ability to work independently and under own direction and initiative.

Ability to travel and oversee events operations outside of primary office, as needed.

Successful candidates will be provided with outstanding career opportunities and will receive a competitive total rewards package with the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses.Target Hiring Range $109,000 - $145,000Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWE provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
