About the Role:

The Senior Thermal Engineer will play a key role in the design, fabrication, and commissioning of novel furnace process technologies for innovative molten salt processing.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this position offers the opportunity to lead the design process from conceptual stages through detailed design, construction, and testing.

You will work closely with technology partners, consultants, and team members to develop cutting-edge thermal equipment.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary $100,000 to $200,000 (based on location and experience).

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the design, fabrication, and commissioning of novel furnace process technologies.

Lead the design process through conceptual, detailed design, construction, and testing stages.

Coordinate with technology partners, consultants, and team members to ensure seamless project execution.

Project manage and support the creation of complex technical products, including 3D CAD designs, specifications, and drawings.

Perform thermal and structural simulations of new mechanical components and systems.

Produce detailed construction and fabrication drawings for timely delivery to fabricators.

Requirements:

BS or MS in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering with 10+ years of experience working with high-temperature thermal systems, refractories, and molten materials

Proven experience in the design, prototyping, construction, and operation of furnace process technology.

Expertise in stakeholder management and coordination with internal and external technology partners.

Strong problem-solving skills in areas such as structural design, thermal engineering, fluid dynamics, and product engineering.

In-depth knowledge and experience with sealing material connections at high temperatures (over 700ºC) in the presence of corrosive molten salts and oxidizing gases.

Experience in the design and construction of refractory composite systems.

Formal GD&T training is preferred.
