SUMMARY:

The position will assist in leading HFHGC's efforts in volunteer recruitment, coordination, training, retention, and appreciation. The role will support Volunteer Services throughout the organization, with a focus on maintaining a healthy and sustainable volunteer program for Construction and Home Preservation.ESSENTIAL DUTIES

:

Perform all functions of volunteer coordination as follows:Operations

Recruit, on-board and coordinate assignments for all Construction/HP volunteers, including QATs (Quality Assurance Team) and Task Leaders

Manage volunteers on site - responsible for registering and welcoming them at the start of each shift; providing assistance throughout the day.

Train Construction/HP staff on best practices for volunteer management and retention.

Develop/Maintain a volunteer recruitment, application, onboarding, and recognition process that facilitates meaningful involvement of the volunteers into the mission of HFHGC through their involvement in Construction/HP.

Support, in coordination with direct supervisor, a robust volunteer retention program.

Assist with volunteer appreciation events and agency special events, including dedications and wall raisings.

Collect data, establish collaborative partnerships with volunteers, and track individual and group volunteer participation.

Ensure the appropriate number of volunteers are present for each project.

Help develop Task Leader program and support the engagement of future Task Leaders.

Appropriately manage and assist volunteers when necessary.

Continually develop & maintain the volunteer section of HFHGC's website and social media.

Monitor and enforce safety practices on site.

Oversee volunteer data entry, hours reporting, and administration of Volunteer Management database.

Lead Pink Book for first weekend of Framing, including creation of each "Pink Book"

In charge of regular updates to the Construction Handbook (through InDesign)

Assist with Construction and family photos as needed.

Fiscal Management

Provide input in developing Volunteer Services annual budget.

Operate within the Volunteer program budget.

Planning & Development

Make recommendations for the implementation and revision of Volunteer Services Strategic Plan.

Recommend and attend appropriate continuing education courses.

Policies & Standards

Submit all required reports and data, to the appropriate HFHGC team member.

Promote the HFHGC mission whenever possible in the community within the boundaries of the agency's policies.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The work schedule is Tuesday-Saturday; 7:30 am - 3:30 pm with occasional evening events and meetings. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

HS Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Competence in a range of information technology applications including Windows Operating Systems as well as Microsoft applications. Experience with database management a plus but not required. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite also a plus but not required.

Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, speaking and writing skills.

Must be able to effectively communicate information and work with a diverse group of individuals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must have the physical ability to lift and move supplies weighing up to 50 pounds

Must have the physical ability to move safely on un-level outdoor surfaces

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT

Requires a current and valid driver's license. Work may require driving personal vehicle to work site
