WHAT YOU'LL DO Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principlesActive participant in the Elimination of Waste Team meetingsSupport the Company's Goals and ObjectivesPreparation, assessment of weldments and technical reporting for research, development and root cause analysis for preventative maintenance to avoid weld failuresAct as Project Manager on new programs during the APQP process and participate in APQP activities including but not limited to: design development, failure mode and effect analysis, manufacturing feasibility studies line and floor layout, resource allocation, capacity studies, production trial runsResponsible for establishing and maintaining process parameters and ensuring adherence to customer specifications including sectioning, polishing and microscopic metallurgical analysisProvide support by leading and participating in problem solving activities, including troubleshooting machines for the permanent resolution of manufacturing issues (Global 8-D process)Work on the plant floor with operators, machines and fixtures to improve manufacturing processes in areas of safety, quality, productivity, throughput, quick change, and ergonomicsEducate operators and support personnel in process flow, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting activitiesInitiate, coordinate, and verify design changes to part prints, or changes to work instructions, set-up instructions, PFMEA's and the process flow diagramsMake recommendations, plans and suggestions that promote Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing throughout the organizationChampion of all welding joining and developments that may affect future opportunitiesPossess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 Compliance criteriaCompliance participation in IATF16949 Quality Procedures and Work InstructionsWHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEEDBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Weld Engineering and/or minimum 5 years of work experience related fieldKnowledgeable of arc welding, laser welding, and robotic applications.Mechanical tooling assembly design abilityDeveloping effective working relationships with customers and the ability to communicate information with confidenceUnderstanding of stamping and assembly manufacturing processes and systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Power PointWHAT ELSE YOU'LL NEED TO KNOWMust be able to work with minimal supervision: self-starterCollaboration SkillsExcellent communication skills for interaction with the workforce, suppliers and customersMeticulous attention to detailOrganized and efficient, with extensive multi-tasking and project management abilitiesPersonal Effectiveness/CredibilityPossess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteriaWHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU Employee Stock Ownership PlanIncentive BonusMedical, Vision, DentalPrescription Drug Plan401kPaid Vacation & HolidaysShort-Term DisabilityTuition ReimbursementHealth and Wellness ReimbursementEmployee RecognitionDiscount Programs
