A professional services firm in New York City is currently seeking an experienced Tax professional to join their growing team in Tax Manager.
Responsibilities:
The Tax Manager will:Manage staff on engagement deliverables (such as financial statements, tax returns, work papers, etc.)Complete technical and strategic reviews as a member of the final engagement review team to ensure quality control standards are met; ensure on time delivery and on budgetHandle all client responsibilities, including knowledge of trends, industries, alternatives, etc.Assist with new client development in partnership with upper managementParticipate in client meetings, presentations and proposal development and meet individual cross serveManage and retain multiple client relationships, engagements and special projectsDevelop overall engagement budgetHandle billing and realization on assigned clients and explain variancesSupervise, train and mentor staff; listen and communicate effectivelyPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:
5+ years of experience in Public Accounting or related fieldBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, and/or a related fieldCPA or parts passedKnowledge of High Net Worth Tax and related Entities, Trusts etc.Previous experience in a Supervisory roleMicrosoft Excel proficientSolid analytical and mathematical skillsGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organized
