A professional services firm on Long Island is currently seeking an experienced Tax professional to join their growing team as their new Tax Generalist / Partner.
Responsibilities:
The Tax Generalist / Partner will:Maintain extensive knowledge of accounting rules and regulations and applies technical knowledge in a practical business mannerLead the Tax Seniors and Staff Accountants in an effective wayEnsure that assignments are accomplished within the budgeted timeInteract with clients to discuss issues with regard to tax information throughout the yearDevelop technical knowledge through participation in organization meetings, training programs, attending industry events and participation in research activitiesRecognize complex technical issues, uses strategic decision-making skills and reach appropriate conclusions.Act as a primary point of contact for clients and regularly interface with client's senior managementPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:
10+ years of progressive Tax experienceBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, and/or a related fieldCPA or parts passedProficient in Corporate, International, Federal and State & Local TaxSolid background in Corporate Restructuring, Mergers & Acquisitions, C-Corps, Partnerships and individual/ trustsStrong skills in Tax AccountingProficiency in US GAAP, Tax Compliance, Corporate Consolidated Returns, Consolidated Federal Tax Returns, Partnership Returns, and combined State Tax ReturnsProficient with Tax software, ProSystems and CCHMicrosoft Excel proficientSolid analytical, mathematical, and research skillsGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Strong attention to detailHighly organized
