Quality Auditor Position Title: Quality Auditor Department: Quality Reports to: Quality Manager Position Summary The Quality Auditor develops, implements, maintains, and evaluates quality assurance systems, procedures, and processes to ensure all products and materials meet company and customer standards, specifications, and quality expectations.The employee has the authority to reject and prevent discrepant parts from being moved to the next manufacturing operation and to place the product on hold for management review before being shipped to the customer. This position will require overtime. The pay rate for this position is $18/hr, which increases with experience and/or certifications. Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities This position includes (but is not limited to) the following essential functions: Excellent understanding and practice of inspection, testing of materials, and product qualities, such as dimensional, mechanical, visual, and performance characteristics Stay current on industry standards by maintaining certifications or education Ability to troubleshoot both in-process and field returns and identify root cause of defect Maintain all aspects of ISO 9001:2000 and AS9100:2001 quality system registration by ensuring that company follows all requirements of the standards Perform necessary calculations to determine angles, tolerances, dimensions, and measurements Prepare parts for customer source inspectors by coordinating assembly of required documentation, which may include inspection reports, drawings, bills of materials, process specifications, purchase orders, material certifications, and shipping paperwork; assists source inspector as required Plan, schedule, and coordinate quality audits to ensure compliance with company standards, federal regulations, and contractual obligations, ensuring timing requirements are met for quality assurance (QA) reviews and reporting to ISO registrar (Underwriters Laboratories) and customer representatives Identify appropriate parameters, functions, and data to test and validate Identify and communicate issues raised, offering recommended solutions relevant to business and risk for any dimensional, process, or quality discrepancies discovered during the inspection process Investigate, document, and analyze faulty processes and provide input for their resolution to managers and QA team Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of subcomponents and assemblies; document results of those and other inspections Design, install, and evaluate QA process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques Design, implement, and execute test plans/cases based on product functional specifications Present results of investigations to senior staff and prepare written reports concerning investigation activities, citing and explaining appropriate defects that do not align with internal policies, customer guidelines, compliance, and/or other regulations Provide timely feedback on issues before parts leave the line Establish files and computer databases to retain inspection acceptance/rejection reports and data Requirements and Qualifications Ability to use standard precision inspections tools, such as coordinate measuring machines, micrometers, veneers, calipers, and gage blocks Must maintain the confidentiality of all projects, customers, and RMB Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings Basic knowledge and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance and statistical process control In-depth knowledge of the industry standards Exceptional attention to detail Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word computer software Requires a flexible and cooperative attitude, including when asked to perform other duties or tasks that are not listed within this job description but are within the scope of this position Certification by the American Society for Quality is preferred Physical Requirements and Hazards The employee will be required to: Stand while working with machinery Sit during computer work Make repetitive movements Operate a forklift and overhead crane Lift no more than 50 pounds alone and assist in team lifts of more than 50 pounds Fulfill the work schedule, work hours, and productivity expectations of their supervisor and RMB Comply with established standards, policies, and laws applicable to our business Possess specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Hazards: RMB Products enforces all safety regulations. The employee may be required to use personal protective equipment. Each employee has responsibility for the protection and proper use of company property.
