Purchasing Intern

Essential duties and Responsibilities:
On the field training with retail merchandisers throughout the supply chain
Analyze internal product transfer process and assist with day to day functions
Analyze processes, recommend improvements, and work with the team to implement changes
Generate accurate purchase orders / variance purchase orders and distribute them within standard time frames
Manage replenishment stocks within the supply chain
Participate with purchasing associates in negotiating prices, terms and rebates with suppliers.
Assist in obtaining POD'S and BOL's from the plants to assist export team
Coordinate and negotiate freight for plant pickups with 3rd party logistics

Experience with business process analysis and documentation Great organizational skills, attention to detail and follow thru Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Microsoft Office experience; intermediate in Excel Bilingual candidates are desired but not required (English and Spanish)
