Title: Insurance Financial Controller
Local: Cedar Rapids, IA
Job Description:
•Identify and assess business risks, and the impact of new or changes to regulatory, audit and financial accounting laws especially in the insurance industry.
•Oversee the company's financial reporting functions for both IFRS and US Statutory. Oversee the company's accounting and tax functions including treasury, controlling, and cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, reinsurance accounting and reporting, and others.
•Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards such as (Sarbannes-Oxley, SOC, OFAC, IRA Tax Code, GAAP, IFRS). Provide leadership in the implementation of new accounting standards such as IFRS17 and IFRS9.
•Coordinate information required by internal & external auditors, and regulators.
•Ensure maintenance of accurate financial files and records. Implement record controls over electronic and paper records.
•Interact directly with Client executives and Regulators.
•Take an active role in the company's financial planning process.
Qualifications:
•Minimum of 10 years of finance and/or accounting experience including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
•5+ years in Life Insurance industry.
•A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with strong knowledge of GAAP and STAT principles, Insurance Treasury and Tax, Cash Management and other normal insurance fiscal activities .
•MBA is preferred.
