Job Description

Purpose of position:

In collaboration with the Pharmacy administrators, formulates and evaluates programs and supervises the functional activities directed toward accomplishing the department objectives of drug inventory management. Adheres to Federal State and local laws and other regulatory requirements regarding pharmacy and institutional practice.

Facilitates the development, implementation and maintenance of processes to improve Pharmacy stock room operations.Supervises support staff.Orients new staff members.Ability to set priorities, make decisions, and respond quickly to inquiries from pharmacy supervisors or auditors.Must have knowledge of the 340B Drug Program and its requirements.Maintains accurate shelf and item labels in all Pharmacy drug storage locations.Prepares / interpret inventory related reports, including but not limited to vendors and Omnicell.Verifies orders received from vendors and quarantines incorrect, expired and damaged items for return.Assists with the development and implementation of procurement operating policies.Assists in identifying trends in drug use and high-cost items and communicate trends to corporate leadership.Advises procurement supervisors on procedural changes, utilization and development of staff, implementation of productivity goals and makes recommendations for improvements in inventory

Minimum Qualifications

A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college / university or approved related program; and,Five years of full-time, paid experience of progressively responsible level with particular emphasis on inventory and or stock room management; orA satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.NYC Health and Hospitals offers a competitive benefits package that includes:
