Our Purchasing Manager position is an engaging and demanding role. It requires a high level of well-rounded experience, with an ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. We are seeking an individual who can collaborate with internal and external experts to both manage and expand our supply chain. The position is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. This position manages a portfolio of products, no people management responsibility.

Purchasing Manager Role

You will manage the purchasing of a wide range of perishable proteins, as well as associated packaging materials. You will coordinate movement of materials through a growing, national distribution network.

Principal Duties & ResponsibilitiesManage the relationship with vendors for assigned products.Partner with suppliers in developing strategic alignment between the supply base and multiple National distribution centers.Manage inventory through multiple sales channels and national distribution centers.Coordinate between internal departments to drive profitability and eliminate waste.Experience /Skills

Required

High school degreeMinimum two (2) years' experience with perishable purchasing:Sound working knowledge of strategic purchasing principles, materials management, and end to end supply chain management.Analytical skills with comprehensive knowledge of ERP system.Solid knowledge of consignment activities and vendor inventory management.Capacity to analyze, quantify, and act upon purchasing related analytics.Ability to customize/create new metrics to optimize performance.Strong negotiation and presentation skills:

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to build a sustainable business case for a proposed solution.Ability to negotiate with external vendors to provide company with strong inventory positions in tight markets.High attention to detail, while meeting timelines as required (multi-tasking ability).

Proficient with Microsoft Office:

Microsoft Excel - able to build spreadsheets with pivot tables.
