Position SummaryThe
Chief Financial Officer
is responsible for strategic direction of the finance and human resources functions of the organization. This position oversees at a high-level the integrity of financial and accounting documents, with human resources oversight. Additionally, the position is responsible for the budget, financial analysis, reports, grants oversight and cost control accuracy.
The
Chief Financial Officer
is a vital member of the HR & Finance department and collaborates with them to support the implementation of new strategies, programs, or initiatives. This position will be comfortable learning new technology, as well as an eagerness to utilize Arkansas Foodbank software systems. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, a spirit of collaboration and teamwork, and a commitment to hunger relief
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Individuals in this position may occasionally work irregular hours as necessary.

They must have a clear understanding of and ability to articulate the mission and vision of Arkansas Foodbank and a desire to work with diverse populations. Team members must exemplify Arkansas Foodbank values while representing the organization at public, social, and business settings.Evaluate, develop, and implement all financial function and related administrative processes for the Arkansas Foodbank, ensuring accurate, adequate, and timely financial statistical information is prepared and maintained for the Board of Directors, internal management, and third-party needs.Work with the Human Resource staff to ensure successful talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and overall people strategy for the Arkansas Foodbank.The CFO will ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization while fostering a productive and engaging workplace culture.Design, implement, evaluate, and adjust internal controls over financial processes.Provide a high level of accountability and adherence to prescribed procedures in management of federally funded programs.Attend meetings of the Board of Directors and its various committees as requested.Serve as staff representative to Board of Directors finance and investment committees.Provide guidance, training, and technical assistance to staff and volunteers as appropriate in bookkeeping, accounting, and office procedures.Coordinate annual audit and tax filings.In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer and other appropriate Foodbank staff, prepare the annual budget proposal for presentation to the Board of Directors.Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.Establish administrative purchasing procedures and oversee Foodbank purchasing functions.Provide oversight of activities/responsibilities/programs coordinated by subordinate employees.Review, evaluate and administer Foodbank's business insurance needs.Maintain records of rental and lease agreements for rental properties and equipment.Participate as a member of the management team, attend team meetings, and support other areas of the Foodbank as needed.Represent Foodbank at appropriate community and Feeding America meetings.Stay abreast of current events and issues that may impact Foodbank programs.Participate as a member of the management team in organizational planning, development, and implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and adjustment.Attend required staff meetings, training, and conferences.Position QualificationsThe following qualifications are preferred for the candidate; however, other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval.Master's degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance preferredProfessional certification - Certified Public Accounting requiredFive years supervisory experience requiredProficient with computer operations including Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel.Valid Arkansas driver's license and proof of insurance requiredMust pass a background checkMust pass a preemployment drug screening
