Management Information Systems Manager for New Bedford High SchoolREPORTS TO:
New Bedford High School PrincipalJOB SUMMARY:
Manages New Bedford High School information systems. Manages all staff and student user account creation, removals, and updates for access to all information systems. Assists with the development and deployment of training sessions for all district information systems. Assists with the management of system security and email system operations and archival procedures. Supports the creation of the Master Schedule in collaboration with administration. Manages state reporting data sets.QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer-related field or equivalent work-related experience; Master’s Degree is preferred.Minimum 3 years previous experience working in management and operation of information systems environment preferably with an educational or governmental entity.Experience in management of Microsoft Windows Server/Network infrastructure and systems with ability to manage domains, active directory services, MS Exchange, etc.Ability to work collaboratively with Administration and other members of school building teams to compile data and implement systems.Experience in Web Site management, development, programming, and design in a mid-large scale environment.Ability to work collaboratively with Information Systems Database Administrator in management of Student Information Database and other related systems.Computer capabilities with PC/Microsoft Office/Google for Education and data management and statistical software applications and general knowledge of computer technology hardware and software.Ability to work with programming applications needed to extract and manipulate data files from existing systems and convert into other specific formats for meeting submission requirements to other district, state, federal, or miscellaneous agencies.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the day to day operation of New Bedford High School’s data management systems to ensure integrity and efficiency, effectiveness and availability of systems to all internal and authorized external customers.Manages and coordinates the maintenance, updates, and accuracy of information on the NBHS web site.Assists with the management of the district’s Active Directory Domain, MS Exchange Email System, Group Policies, system back-up and recovery procedures, and all other associated administrative level system functions and activities.Works with the District Information Systems Database Administrator and Assistant Superintendent of Technology and Learning to:Compile and transmit student information data accurately and completely to the DESE in compliance with scheduled data transmissions.Respond to all requests for the reporting of student and staff information data from the DESE, other regulatory agencies, school committee, and school administration.Maintain an understanding of DESE SIMS, SCS, EPIMS, SIF, and CRDC data transmission protocols, procedures, and process and works with the Information Systems Database Administrator to communicate and coordinate changes to appropriate school department personnel.Generate data extracts of student data from the Student information system to refresh all applicable software systems used by the school district.Coordinate the imports/extracts of student assessment data to appropriate data warehousing applications (DESE Data Warehouse, Aspen, Clever, MyCap, Edgenuity etc.)Coordinate the compilation and submission of required reporting and communications in relationship to free and reduced lunch programs, student identification, staff identification and any other related operations based on student and staff data in collaboration with district MISM.Works with Senior Data Technician/Network Manager and other technical staff to support New Bedford High School’s network, communications, and computer infrastructure.Works collaboratively with software/hardware vendors/ consultants, and other resources for the ongoing technical support of all school wide data management systems.Compiles and maintains clear and effective processes and documented operating guidelines for the operation and maintenance of all school wide data management systems.Performs other tasks as assigned by the building Principal or designee.REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a valid Massachusetts driver’s license; proper CORI clearanceTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
