$46,668.01 - $58,000.02 annuallyThe selected candidate will start at the above listed appointment rate. Refer to the Total Compensation Estimator Tool for a complete compensation estimate to include benefits, retirement, leave, and holidays.BENEFITS:State Group Health Insurance Coverage.$25,000 Life Insurance Policy (100% paid by employer).Dental, vision, and other supplemental insurance options available.Annual and Sick Leave benefits.10 paid holidays each year.Retirement plan options, including employer contributions.Flexible Spending Accounts.Tuition waivers to attend State of Florida community colleges, colleges, and universities.SPECIFIC DUTIES:This is a highly advanced position requiring a minimum of six (6) years of experience in the commercial construction field. The position serves as a Subject Matter Expert for new construction and major maintenance repair and renovation projects at institutional facilities Statewide. This position will serve as the team leader for major repairs and renovations to various components of a correctional facility.The incumbent in this position is responsible for, but not limited to:Serve as Team Lead for various plumbing, electrical, cabinetry/carpentry, masonry, HVAC, drywall, roofing, and associated systems necessary to operate a major institution.Train correctional institutions General Maintenance staff within the region.Administers construction projects accomplished by Agency personnel and inmate labor.Administers construction projects accomplished by Contract.Assists with preparing programs for use in developing plans for the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC). Provides professional advice to institutions within FDC and assists with preparing FCO budget requests.Participates in the evaluation and selection of Architectural/Engineering (A/E) consultants and Construction Management (CM) firms that are engaged to provide professional services on Department projects.Administers work for projects that are performed by A/E and CM firms including pay request, invoices, schedule, and plan review.Prepares and monitors project schedules, budgets, and allocation of funds.
