Job DescriptionWe often hear former camp staff saying how much they miss camp and how they wish they could come back. This is one of the ways that we feel can help make that happen. We're very excited to offer camp alumni an opportunity to join us for a portion of the summer. Alumni Mentors work alongside staff in the cabin to ease the workload, share wisdom and boost morale. You might also help out in the kitchen, camp store, animal area, with special events - wherever the need and whatever your expertise!

Pay: $300 per week

Length of stay: Minimum one week

Eligibility: Past camp staff

Dates: Staff Training is May 18th - May 30th. Camper sessions are June 1st - August 9th.

Requirements

Work cooperatively with fellow camp staff to provide a healthy, safe, and enjoyable camp environment and experience for all campers.

Key Responsibilities:• Provide guidance to campers on their schedule, activity choices, and abiding camp rules• Ensure campers are on time to activities with the appropriate supplies. Assist campers at meal times, and in the cabin to ensure campers are maintaining health and hygiene practices such as showering, wearing clean clothes and getting appropriate sleep• Lead cabin activities, songs, and games that are engaging and age appropriate• Provide emotional and behavioral support to campers as needed by following behavior management techniques as outlined in the staff manual and during training• Provide instruction of assigned camp activities to campers• Ensure the safety of all campers when participating in camp activities

Required Experience and Skills:• Completed at least 1 summer as a staff at Cub Creek Science Camp• A desire to positively impact the life of a child and willingness to put the needs of campers first• Have a passion for science, animals and childhood development• Able to effectively communicate ideas, and instructions in a constructive manner• Self-motivated and able to work on tasks and assigned goals with minimal supervision• Willingness to adhere to camp's code of conduct, rules and policies

Benefits

Starting pay $300 per week. Additional $10 credit in camp store each week. Housing, meals, and laundry included.
