DanceDuties of the PositionThe successful candidate may teach courses in at least one of the following areas: African Dance Forms, Ballet, Contemporary Dance Forms, Hip Hop Dance Forms, Jazz Dance Forms, Folklorico, Tap, Choreography, Dance History, Global Perspectives in Dance, Dance Ensemble and Production, Teaching Methodologies, Anatomy for the Dancer, and/or Dance and Theatre-based General Education courses. The exact assignment is dependent upon the candidate's strengths and departmental needs. The position requires the successful candidate to be on campus and to teach in person; design the class (consistent with approved curriculum); teach fully independently; grade students; and be available for office hours and fulfill standard SSU teaching duties. Please identify areas of expertise and interest in the cover letter.Professional QualificationsTo be recommended for appointment, the candidate must have the minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Dance or Theatre Arts or appropriate professional experience in Dance.
