What We're Looking For:If you are experienced in pre-sales technical support and business development within the sales industry and have several years of experience, then you will be excited about the Sales Engineer opening with Iridium on our US Government Business Development team. As a Sales Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing multiple activities and projects, including those with cross-functional teams, to drive new sales and business development. In this role, you will focus primarily on providing pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex partner products, applications, and solutions, as well as account prospecting, qualification, demonstrations, and lead follow-up to achieve or exceed sales objectives/product mix objectives. You will succeed in this role if you are proactive, have strong technical acumen, excellent communication skills, and a passion for driving sales and business growth.This position requires an active/current Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).What You'll Do:Be responsible for providing pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products, applications, and solutions.Collaborate with the US Government (USG) Sales team in assessing the potential application of Iridium products to meet customer needs and prepare detailed technical product specifications for the development and implementation of these products.Work closely across external organizations to influence decisions that support the objectives of the USG Sales team.Drive new sales and business development by prospecting accounts, qualifying leads, and following up within the assigned USG market to achieve or exceed assigned outreach campaigns and product mix objectives.Develop and implement effective sales strategies and business plans to succeed in a complex sales environment, aimed at building and expanding sales within the assigned USG market.Participate in contract negotiation, technical support, customer service, installation, and customer training activities.Work independently to prepare account plans/capture strategies and assume responsibility for the implementation of plans.Proactively engage with prospective customers to establish strong relationships, advise of new products or offerings, and effectively resolve problems.Manage assigned USG market and relationships to achieve sales objectives; develop plans to increase revenues and improve market position.Develop status reports on activities; recommend potential areas of business and new/enhanced products to management.Plan and participate in technical and product presentations, demonstrations, and trade shows.Experience & Education Requirements / EEO
What You'll Need to Succeed:Bachelor's degree in Business or a Technical degree, OR relevant experience in lieu of a degree.10+ years of relevant experience in USG or military telecommunications.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues clearly and confidently, and recognize and adapt to different communication techniques.Can easily build meaningful relationships with others, including senior leadership outside of your own department, and is comfortable providing constructive feedback to your team members and management.Be able to analyze a situation or problem, generate effective solutions, and see those solutions through to completion.Must possess the creativity and resourcefulness needed to make reliable decisions and determine methods on new assignments.Can thrive in a dynamic environment by handling multiple tasks and managing shifting priorities.Be proactive in sharing knowledge you've learned with others.Things That Would be

if You Brought to the Table:Active/current Top Secret Security Clearance.We'll also need you to:Be able to travel up to 25-50%.Be a U.S. Citizen.Work Environment:This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer.
