Job Description:This position manages the Upper Division and Capstone Programs for the Ogden Honors College, is responsible for long-range procedural planning and development of the Honors Capstone Program, and serves as the primary advisor for third and fourth year Honors College students.

Job Responsibilities:

Serves as primary advisor for third- and fourth-year Honors College students in the Honors Capstone Program. Provides individual academic counseling that includes discussion of curriculum/course requirements, graduation requirements, scholastic requirements, and academic issues; counsels students regarding degree program options and provides general career counseling. Assists with academic advising of first- and second-year Honors College students in peak times as needed. (40%)

Manages the operations and continuous development of the Honors Capstone Program which includes responsibility for daily and special work assignments, training, and resolving operating problems. Requires independent management or coordination of other counselors and professional staff. Responsible for all course registration and enrollment as well as all data management and tracking for the Honors Capstone Program. (25%)

Interprets and administers academic policies and exceptions regarding requirements for the Honors Capstone Program curriculum and provides direct assistance in developing or revising curricular requirements for the Honors Capstone Program. (20%)

Coordinates the Honors College Graduation Ceremony. Serves as the Master of Ceremonies, responsible for the academic data necessary for the OHC Academic Support and Events Coordinator to perform event coordination duties. Generates the list of graduates for invitations, communicates with capstone directors, assists in ordering correct amount of regalia, manages the outstanding capstone award selection process, pre-audits, and the mail merge for certificate and program printing. (15%)

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience.

Master's degree with 1 year of experience.

FERPA - As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services.
