Litigation Attorney

A law firm based in Somerset, NJ, is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney with 5-10 years of the comparable law firm or financial industry in-house experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in drafting legal documents, maintaining exceptional client relations, and demonstrating successful in-court advocacy. This role requires a high degree of initiative, independence, and motivation, with the ability to develop and execute strategies for resolving complex legal matters.Duties:Represent clients in various litigation matters, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial proceedings.Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions and memoranda.Manage and oversee the discovery process, including collecting, reviewing, and producing evidence.Develop and implement legal strategies to effectively address and resolve client issues.Provide clients with expert legal advice and regular communication regarding case progress.Advocate on behalf of clients in court, presenting evidence and arguments to support their positions.Negotiate settlements and facilitate dispute resolution between parties.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff within the firm to ensure comprehensive case management.Requirements:5-10 years of litigation experience in an in-house setting of a comparable law firm or financial industry.Proven history of excellent drafting skills and successful in-court advocacy.Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters independently and develop effective strategies.Exceptional client relations skills with a record of providing high-quality legal advice and support.Licensed to practice law in New Jersey and New York.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active Bar membership in New Jersey and New York.Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Proficiency in legal research tools and software.High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases effectively.Strong negotiation skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
