About The Role

Mytra’s robotics team is looking for an experienced senior firmware engineer to develop and scale firmware for our distributed robotic fleet. In this role you will work across many functional hardware and software teams to develop critical control and safety functionality. Our team is focused on development of functional, reliable and performant robotics software. You’ll contribute to the long term success of Mytra’s robotics software by leading the development of real-time functionality within the bot.

What You'll Do

Lead and mentor development of real-time software for critical control and safety management of the robotDevelop automated tests to ensure high-quality software releases and accurate functionalityWork closely with the mechanical design and control teams to specify hardware actuation and sensing requirementsLead and develop firmware rollout and deployment (ex: over-the-air deployment) for robotics software and firmwareRapidly build and maintain embedded firmware for electronic sensor equipmentDeliver high-quality code in a real-time embedded environmentDesign, implement, test and document firmware

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalentStrong experience with system-level development languages (C/C++/Rust/etc)Strong C/C++/Rust skills required, familiarity with C++ and Python are a plus.Experience with low-level interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN, RS232Experience with pub/sub message brokers such as MQTT and NATSExperience implementing safety-critical, high reliability, or fault-tolerant softwareExperience in interfacing actuators, motors, vision elements.Experience with real-time Linux and/or real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS, etc)Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and HIL testingFamiliarity with kernel level and driver developmentExcellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skillsGit experience
