Humba Ventures
Structure Engineer
Humba Ventures, San Francisco, California, United States, 94199
Role Overview
Come join the development of cutting-edge distributed cooperative robotics. We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our interdisciplinary team of engineers and designers in developing innovative and cost-effective solutions for our robotic systems. You will be responsible for designing, analyzing, testing, certifying, and fabricating custom-built steel and composite systems that enable three-dimensional movement of goods in warehouse environments.
Responsibilities
Work with structural engineers in developing and delivering high-quality structural solutions for our automated storage/retrieval and modular systems. Reviewing and performing structural designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports for compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements. Coordinating and collaborating with other engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure the alignment of project objectives, timelines, and budgets. Providing technical guidance and support to the fabrication, installation, and testing of structural components and systems. Conducting research and development activities to explore new technologies, materials, and methods that can improve the performance, efficiency, and sustainability of our structural solutions.
The Ideal Candidate
A master’s degree or higher in structural engineering or a related field. 3-6 years of experience in design and analysis of structural engineering projects, preferably in industries with modular, scalable, custom-fab steel structures. Experience in cold-formed steel design. FEA experience (IdeaStatica, Ansys, SAP2000, ETABS). Strong seismic design and analysis (dynamic, nonlinear). Revit experience. Exceptional engineering, problem-solving, and project management skills. Strong visual communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite. PE license preferred.
A Final Note
You’re encouraged to apply even if you can’t take on every example project in its totality. We work closely and collaboratively at Mytra - No one takes on projects alone. We seek people who are eager to work together, learn new things, and bring unique perspectives.
About Mytra
We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.
