Job DescriptionSummary of Responsibilities:Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive guest service while supporting fellow ColleaguesRecruit, train, develop and effectively manage the performance of department employees.Prepare and control the annual maintenance budget and assist in the preparation of the Capital PlanEnsure all physical operations including refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing, water treatment, and electric systems are maintained clean and safe manner.Plan, implement and monitor an effective Preventative Maintenance ProgramCoordinate renovation and capital projectsManage and coordinate external contractors, vendors etc.; includes negotiate relevant contracts.Ensure the hotel complies with all Government regulations pertaining to building code requirements, health, fire and life safety programs.Implement, monitor and maintain a cost-effective energy management programand monitor the Hotel’s Energy Management system (EMS)Develop and manage an effective inventory control process.Develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship with all other Departments and external contractors, vendors etc.Establish and maintain quantitative standards of performance and utilizes performance management principles to maximize employee productivity.Provide training in and ensure employees adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures, emergency procedures, loss prevention protocols, WHMIS etc.Supervise and direct maintenance colleagues in the operation and maintenance of the mechanical and physical plant.Ensure prompt and/or immediate response to maintenance requests from our guests, colleagues and management of the Hotel.Actively participate in the hotel’s energy management, occupational health & safety and environmental programs.Other related duties assigned
QualificationsMinimum 4 years senior managerial experience in a complex resort facility is required.4th Class Power Engineering is required.Degree/diploma in Engineering or trade certification on Building Management is an asset.Proven experience in managing multi-million-dollar large-scale infrastructure projects is required.Ability to read, understand and interpret Engineering and Building Blueprints is required.Demonstrated knowledge of all regulations such as building codes, fire and health department requirementsProven leadership, team development and management skillsProven record for technical judgment, effectively managing complex projects and innovation.Superior organizational, strategic planning, project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written; fluent in English)Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and demonstrated awareness of cutting-edge facilities management technologies and strategies.Proficient with Microsoft Suite of applications is required
Additional InformationPhysical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):Walking, standing, bending, pushing and pulling anywhere from 2 – 6 hours a day.Requires constant repetitive motion.Environmental stress is high – work in extreme weather conditions, high noise level and utilize hazardous machinery.
