We are looking for a highly motivated and committed administrative professional to join our Finance/Accounting team.

Who We Are:

We are a beautiful non-profit residential community licensed by the State of California serving adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities located in Spring Valley, California. There are 90 residents we like to call "the folks" that chose a home at Noah Homes to call their own. Noah Homes is an oasis of peace as well as a hub of activity, offering residents and staff continued opportunities for personal growth and fulfillment. Also, a big part of our commitment is to provide a safe environment not only for our residents, but for our employees and visitors, so we follow all the protocol and guidelines from the CDC and HHS to prevent the spread of Covid-19 among our community.

The position's responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, this position ensures both the accuracy of financial records and the strategic financial planning needed to support our mission. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing daily accounting tasks, budgeting, and financial analysis, and will play a crucial role in financial decision-making.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

NATURE & SCOPE:

Accounting and Financial Reporting:

Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.

Prepare accurate and timely financial statements following GAAP.

Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes.

Budgeting and Financial Planning/Analysis:

Develop and manage the annual operating budget in collaboration with Executive Director and department heads.

Monitor and report on budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for adjustments.

Implement financial strategies to support the organization's mission and goals.

Provide financial analysis, forecasts, and reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Collaborate with Executive Director to manage cash flow and investments.

Financial Systems Management:

Manage and optimize the organization's financial management software and systems.

Ensure data integrity and accuracy in financial reporting.

Team Leadership and Development:

Supervise and mentor accounting team staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Provide training and support to staff on accounting policies and procedures.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

Maintain internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue, and costs, in addition to programs budgets and expenditures.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements for financial and tax reporting.

Coordinate the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.

Grants and Fund Management:

Oversee financial management of grants and restricted funds, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.

Prepare financial reports for grantors and funding agencies.

Track and report on grant expenditures and ensure accurate allocation of funds.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in non-profit accounting and financial management, preferably in a non-profit organization.

Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting standards and practices, including GAAP.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial work.

Ability to ensure the integrity and reliability of financial data and reports.

Commitment to maintaining thorough and precise financial records.

High level of integrity and ethical standards in financial management and to the organization's mission, vision, and core values.

Commitment to transparency and accountability in financial practices.

Adherence to organizational policies and procedures.

Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).

Experience with grant management and compliance preferred.

Experience working with governmental agencies preferred.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Must be able to pass state and federal level background check and Live Scan fingerprinting.
