We are seeking an Estimator II that will work closely with the Special Projects team and assist with multiple projects. This role will primarily sit in the office but may require travel to project job sites to meet with project teams and subcontractors.

ResponsibilitiesAs an Estimator II, you will:

Produce quantitative surveys and accurate pricing for a project from its early inception through an acceptable working budget, GMP, or Lump Sum Price.

Coordinate project documents for the GMP and Lump Sum Bid project delivery methods.

Lead detailed reviews of civil, architectural, and structural subcontractor’s scope before the award of project contracts.

Obtain and present unit pricing data.

Outline clarifications and qualifications within an estimate.

Provide backup for estimates to be used during analysis and review.

Secure and contact sources for cost estimates for all specialty items.

Identify indirect costs and General Condition items within estimates.

Apply knowledge of unit prices and the material/labor component.

Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.

Produce manpower estimates to coincide with construction estimates.

Compile complete estimate/bid package breakdown based on input from others.

Establish estimating protocols for specific types of documentation.

Manage the pre-bid and post-bid process for all trade contractors.

Create bid documents; identify and pre-qualify a database of bidders and generate bidder interest on a project-by-project basis.

QualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

BS or MS degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Finance.

3-5 years of relevant experience.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Use of Destiny software, On Screen take-off, and sitework software tools for take-offs.

Familiar with market pricing and trends.

Basic understanding of conceptual estimating.

Proficient in public speaking and able to lead large meetings with confidence.

Basic understanding of construction law, contract, and risk management.

Basic understanding of insurance.

Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Ability to read construction drawings and understand specifications.

Ability to prepare and interpret specifications, analyze bids, and maintain procurement records and reports.

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Boston, MA this ranges from $90,000.00 - $123,800.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
