Introduction:
We are seeking a Senior Manager to function in a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role to provide leadership overseeing agency financial management for a local government. This pivotal role involves overseeing the City's financial processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The successful candidate will act as a supervisor to the finance team and contribute to various professional services related to financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate the City’s financial processes, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Supervise and lead the finance team, defining roles and responsibilities to enhance productivity and ensure accountability.
Prepare and oversee financial reporting to provide clear, accurate financial statements and insights to stakeholders.
Engage in risk management practices to identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial risks affecting the City.
Maintain effective communication and engagement with stakeholders, including representing the City in matters related to state and federal legislation.
Provide financial leadership and strategic advice to support the City’s objectives and financial health.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in financial management within a public sector or municipal environment.
Strong understanding of local, state, and federal compliance requirements and financial reporting standards.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing a finance team.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders and representing the City in various forums.
Ability to work independently and make decisions that align with the City’s financial and operational goals.
Skilled in risk management and the ability to foresee financial challenges and propose effective solutions.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented financial professional who is committed to upholding high standards of financial integrity and transparency, ensuring that the City’s financial operations support its broader objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
Must hold either a CPA, CGFM, or CGFO for this job.
