Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the IT Manager, the Reporting & Analytics Specialist position is part of the Operations & Technology Services Department. The Reporting & Analytics Specialist plays a pivotal role in generating and managing reports tailored to the specific needs of the organization. This includes running and scheduling existing reports related to financial, revenue cycle, operational, regulatory (e.g., UDS), and clinical aspects. The Reporting & Analytics Specialist will be able to create reports from scratch or customize existing ones from the EMR library.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Develops, maintains, and/or modifies reports and dashboards to ensure that all data is accurate and current. Provide clinical, operational, financial, regulatory, and relicense reports to leadership, providers, and staff as required.Develops and maintains a data dictionary to ensure standard report definitions, calculation methodologies, and end-user interpretation.Gathers all requirements for business and clinical reports regarding financial, revenue cycle, research, quality, staffing productivity, staffing credentials and more.Functions as subject matter expert (SME) about EHR specialization. Acts as a liaison between the client and vendor to develop the required reports during implementations or system upgrades.Documents and tracks report requests and development within the ticketing system.

Bachelors degree in computer science, IT or other related field.Experience:

At least three (3) years of experience working within a Health Care Environment.At least five (5) years of experience in a technical support role.Licenses/Certifications:

Reporting Analyst Certification (EHR reporting, Microsoft Power BI, SQL, Tableau, etc.)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of EMR reporting and dashboard development tools.Knowledge of external reporting tools such as SQL, Crystal report, Power BI, Tableau, and others.Knowledge of clinical and business terminology.Knowledge of report development and data validation.Core Competencies:

This is a Full Time | Grant-Funded position.Monday - Friday; 8 am - 5 pm.Hours may vary based on the business needs of the department or tasks requirements.Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.Physical Demands:

Some duties would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time. Travel will be required to support the end users as necessary.Harris County Public Health:
