Open Until FilledJob Summary:The focus of this position is to be part of our server administration team as a system administrator, within the Computing and Technology Group at Huntsman Cancer Institute.Works within our team environment to support, install and monitor core IT infrastructure that are primarily on-premises, but may include some cloud computing responsibilities in the future.Manages, plans, and installs new software releases and system upgrades for operating systems and applications, and related projects by developing test and implementation plans along with project timelines.Follow up and coordinate with customers, internal staff, and vendors as required.Will be part of our rotating 24×7 on-call system administration coverage.Document equipment configurations, procedures, and guidelines in order to provide accurate information related to IT services.Perform regular security monitoring and auditing on system resources to identify possible security issues.Minimum Qualifications:Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) with at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.Preferences:Work Environment and Level of Frequency typically required:Nearly Continuously: Office environment.Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking.Additional Information:The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems (“URS”).
