It is a big mission, and we are looking for talented, ambitious, optimistic people to join our team.We are a seed stage, venture backed biotech company and are currently in stealth mode (so don’t bother looking for a website).We are currently searching for a passionate and innovative Scientist I to Sr. Scientist who excels at in vivo and in vitro experimentation in the metabolic disease space. The ideal candidate will have experience working in preclinical development in the GLP-1 / incretin mimetic space. Working hand-in-hand with the CSO and head of Vectorology, this Scientist will be a critical member of the founding team here at Source Bio.ResponsibilitiesEstablish in vivo and in vitro models of metabolic disease with a focus on assessment of incretin function.

Establish assays in conjunction with the above models.

Drive development of metabolic disease candidates from design through key preclinical proof-of-concept.

Contribute to vector and protein design.

Establish, execute, and interpret in vitro and cell-based workflows for testing and optimizing candidates.

QualificationsPh.D. in pharmacology, metabolic disease, molecular biology, or a related field.

2+ years of industry experience preferred.

Direct experience in discovery or development of GLP-1 or related peptide drugs, including their pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic assessment.

Direct experience with in vivo models of obesity.

Skill managing CROs to enable timely and successful execution of in vivo experiments.

Skill with in vitro and cell-based assays, including transfection, ELISA and Western blotting, various microscopy techniques.

Skill with PCR-based assays, such as qPCR, RT-PCR and ddPCR.

Significant experience in project progression, experimental prioritization, project teams and line responsibilities.

Competence in plasmid construction for AAV, viral, or non-viral gene therapy preferred.
