Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Network – Network Team Lead (24-242) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in the Colorado Springs, CO area.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight.

Capability Owner to drive the delivery of the Network development efforts across multiple Task Orders (TO) to meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements. The candidate will coordinate the planning, organization, and execution of engineering activities to develop assigned technical capabilities integrated into the C2BMC Network Enterprise. This position is accountable for the capability's overall engineering technical, cost, and schedule performance.

Essential Functions:

Responsibility for execution of technical development of the capability.

Maintain, prioritize, and refine team backlogs.

Work with Development Engineers and Release Train Engineers to develop the capability's schedule, technical, and cost performance.

Provide input to standard metrics packages for program execution status, technical improvement, and management/customer status updates.

Manage risk mitigation activities, schedule planning, and change requests associated with the capabilities.

Prepare and present internal and external communications, including in-process Reviews (IPRs), Integrated Engineering Technical Reviews (IETRs), and bi-weekly status meetings for program management and customer representatives.

Manage the lifecycle of negotiated and assigned ECP effort(s) added to the capability.

Coordinate and resolve multiple spiral and capability resource de-confliction across the Agile Release Train (ART) and with other program ARTs.

Lead ART planning activities to ensure priority and maturity are achieved.

Resolve schedule and technical issues.

Create and analyze what-if scenarios as needed.

Participate in ART-level Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, team backlog refinement, and retrospectives.

This candidate is expected to achieve long-term goals as the responsible Capability Owner with limited program and engineering management oversight.

Experience dealing with complex team structures and vendors in a DoD environment.

Skills in working with project management tools and flexibility in adjusting to many different roles.

Background working in a complex system development environment, interfacing with and conducting presentations and demonstrations for many different customers professionally.

Basic Qualifications:

An active Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

9 years experience with a STEM Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 7 years experience with a STEM Master's degree in a related field; OR 13 years experience in lieu of a degree.

Proven project management experience as part of large DoD systems and capabilities under development.

Experience managing and reporting cost, schedule, and technical development on a large program.

Experience planning, conducting, and coordinating activities such as documentation development, technical exchange meetings with stakeholders, test events, and capability deployments.

Strong experience with Agile methodology or Agile Product Owner certification, Digital Transformation, and DevOps implementation.

Experience managing the design, development, and implementation of complex systems.

Strong teamwork, collaboration, and verbal and written presentation skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desired.

Strong Interpersonal, Presentation, Communication, and Facilitation Skills.

Customer-focused.

Prior experience working with the Missile Defense Agency and C2BMC is a plus.

$109,900 - $164,900
