Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the Robeson Campus Center – Newark. Reporting to the Assistant Dean/Director of Community Standards & Student Development (ADCS), the Program Coordinator will provide administrative, programmatic, student conduct, and special event support and coordination for Community Standards.The position is responsible for and not limited to the following:Supports all student conduct functions including case management, intake, preliminary investigations, scheduling hearings and appeals, appropriate and up-to-date student record notations, direct communication with students, and sanction management.Provides oversight of educational programming, special event planning, data tracking for program attendance, assessment, and assistance with other programmatic offerings as needed.Assists with the administrative and programmatic support functions of special projects. These will change from year to year.Position Status

Minimum Education and Experience:Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach.Also requires a minimum of two years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function, good communication skills, and computer literacy.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong knowledge with diverse populations; this is necessary to adequately serve the student population that this department serves. Background in college student development and/or knowledge of college student development theories/philosophies.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s Degree preferred.Preference for applicants with degrees in the following disciplines: college student development, higher education leadership, sociology, psychology, social work, human relations, or other social science or student-oriented discipline.Physical Demands and Work Environment
