We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Used Car Director to lead our pre-owned vehicle department. As the Used Car Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our used car operations, including purchasing, pricing, sales, and inventory management. You will play a crucial role in driving sales growth, maximizing profitability, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate for this role has 24+ months of pre-owned inventory management experience with a proven track record of consistent departmental sales growth. Candidate will also have a proven track record of clean inventory management.

Responsibilities:Work directly with our employees and customers to develop relationships and help bridge disconnects in the sales processHiring, training, motivating, counseling, and developing the sales management staffConduct regular staff meetings to review all aspects of operations and communicate in a timely mannerDevelop future managers through job growth and performance; evaluate sales staff; be a role modelLot controlMaintain the website, make sure all specials are updated with pricing and compliantDepartmental expense review and controlAssist in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions to support the pre-owned departmentAttend and contribute to manager meetingsKeep abreast of current market and current valuation of pre-owned vehicles.Conduct sales meetings to motivate and train sales professionalsAdhere to high ethical standards while maintaining gross profit and customer satisfactionManage and lead the Pre-owned car sales team to meet and exceed sales targetsDevelop and execute strategies to optimize inventory, pricing, and merchandisingEnsure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policiesCollaborate with other departments to drive overall business successBuild rapport with customers to build a base of referrals to establish customer networkHelp manage all other aspects and day to day operations of the pre-owned department
Qualifications:24+ months experience running and operating a pre-owned department in a high-volume car dealership. Verifiable references and sales results requiredHigh School diploma or equivalent requiredFamiliarity and experience using an Inventory Tool, VAuto preferredStrong leadership and team-building skillsDemonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organizationSales and trend forecasting abilitiesProven ability to drive the sales process from plan to closeStrong business sense and industry expertise.Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills.Proven track record of achieving goalsExcellent organizational and interpersonal skillsAnalytical and data-driven decision-making approachCustomer-centric mindset and commitment to excellenceA strong understanding of inventory controlStrong Computer & Phone Skills (MS Outlook, CRM, Microsoft Office suite)Professional appearance and work ethicSelf-motivated, goal oriented, and ability to work within a fast paced environmentCurrent, valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)All potential employees must pass pre-employment testing including a background check and drug screen
