Our team is focused on integrating genomic data science into the curriculum, ensuring students gain hands-on research experience regardless of their institutional affiliation. As the Genomics Education Lead, you will create lessons, support instructors, and assess the impact of CUREs covering areas such as soil metagenomics ( http://biodigs.gdscn.org ) and transcriptomics ( https://science.c-moor.org/miniCURE-RNA-seq ) that will be used at JHU and our partners at 2- and 4-year institutions. This position is at the Assistant Research Scientist level and funded for two years, with additional employment contingent upon securing further funding.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Create course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs) by collaborating with instructors as part of the BioDIGS soil biodiversity project.Support academic and research partners with ongoing offerings of the RNA-seq miniCURE.Assess program effectiveness through feedback and data analysis.Minimum Qualifications:

PhD or equivalent in Biology or related fields.Demonstrated background in genomic data science.Strong knowledge of the R programming language.Excellent communication and project management skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with educational and research partners.Preferred Qualifications:

Metagenomics data analysis of 16S rRNA or whole shotgun sequencing.Familiarity with educational technology and open educational resources.Understanding of assessment strategies.Mentorship of diverse populations, especially instructors unfamiliar with technical material.Application Instructions:
