615 Ventures is a Nashville-based investment firm that creates value through the acquisition and management of commercial real estate nationwide. 615 Ventures manages retail, office, industrial, SNTL and residential assets across seven U.S. markets. In addition to our commercial real estate efforts, we also evaluate company acquisitions primarily in the greater Nashville, TN area.The opportunity615 Ventures is currently seeking a full-time director of operations to lead one of our portfolio companies.As a Director of Operations, you will drive the growth and expansion of our STEP tank installation and horizontal development company. This role will oversee and manage all aspects of the company operations and play a crucial role in all aspects of the company’s success. The position requires strong leadership skills, experience with managing construction teams and projects, knowledge of heavy equipment, excellent customer service, and a deeply ingrained sense of urgency.What you'll doIdentify and call on prospective customers to drive sales growthDevelop and maintain customer and vendor relationshipsSupervise and lead a team of field personnel, ensuring productivity, adherence to safety protocols, and high-quality workmanshipCoordinate and schedule equipment repairs to minimize machine downtimeMaintain materials inventory and order additional parts as neededRecruit and hire personnel alongside crew leadsSupervise development efforts to keep projects within a design, budget, and schedule expectationsPrepare estimates for prospective projects with a review of specifications, drawings, and takeoff informationNegotiate change orders when neededEnsure quick and accurate billing alongside our shared finance teamProblem-solve on the fly with crews as issues ariseCoordinate with equipment rental companies as neededWho you areHas ownership in outcomes both good and bad, ownership in team performanceResourceful in solving operational and organizational problemsInnate sense of urgency to address customer complaints, provide project bids, and drive completion of projectsExcellent customer service and responsiveness to client needsStrong relationship-building skills in business development effortsProven experience (5+ years) in a leadership role within the excavation or construction industryAbility to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in project management software Microsoft Office Suite and Google DocsExcellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsValid driver’s license and reliable transportationStrong understanding of excavation techniques, equipment, and safety standards (preferred)What we offer youHealth, Vision, and Dental Insurance beginning the first of the month after working with us for 30 days401(k) retirement plan with 50% match (up to 6% of your annual contributions)Catered lunches 4 times per week in the officeEmployer work visa sponsorship and support are not provided for this role.
