Harvey, ILCOGS has partnered with a multi-million dollar construction company as they seek an Environment Health and Safety Manager to join their team due to their ongoing expansion in the Chicago land area.Due to increased market demand for their services, they are in growth mode and expanding! This has led to increased opportunities for career trajectory and hence they are looking for an Environment Health and Safety Manager to take ownership of their safety procedures.This position is 5 days a week on site in Harvey, IL with a salary up to $120K DOE.Responsibilities:Oversees the health, safety, and environmental programs, including developing, writing, implementing, auditing, and maintaining policies and procedures to comply with company, local, state, and federal regulations.Plans and executes training programs for managers and employees on workplace safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.Ensures sites are current and compliant with OSHA regulations, including recordkeeping requirements.Leads weekly safety meetings and coordinates all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) training, communications, and program management activities.Inspects facilities for potential EHS risks, identifies corrective or preventive measures as needed, and ensures their implementation.Leads Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations of incidents, injuries, and near misses, ensuring action items are completed.Collaborates with the operations team to facilitate environmental programs.Manages the reporting and follow-up of workplace incidents and accidents with relevant agencies.Oversees the management of site Workers Compensation claims.Qualifications:A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field is preferred.Holding a professional safety certification, such as Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP) or Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST), ASP, CSP, is preferred.Training in OSHA 500, highly preferred.Minimum 5 years of relevant safety experience.Travel up to 50%.
