The

Director of Risk Management

has broad responsibility to protect the hospital's assets from loss. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potential sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure.Dover Behavioral Health System

is a 104-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Dover, Delaware area. Maintain and manage a Healthcare Peer Review Reporting system to ensure timely reporting and analysis of incidents and risks, including data entry into the MIDAS Database and trend analysis.Collaborate with medical staff and department directors to identify and implement risk reduction strategies, as well as ensure proper credentialing processes related to professional liability.Assist in claims management by facilitating the investigation and documentation of incidents, including preserving essential records for legal purposes, and reporting to Corporate Risk Management.Actively participate in committees such as Patient Safety Council and Environment of Care/Safety, contributing to the development of safety standards and practices.Prepare and submit risk management reports and data analysis monthly to Corporate Risk Management, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory standards and timely reporting of potential claims incidents.Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, or related health field required. Master's Degree preferred.Experience:

Four (4) years of experience in risk management/improving organizational performance within an acute medical or psychiatric treatment setting.Additional Requirements:

A strong knowledge of JOINT COMMISSION, TDSHS, CMS standards, and any other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.EEO Statement
