About the Team

You will be part of the Production and Asset Management Team at Pottery Barn, working in our brand headquarters in San Francisco, CA. Our job is to manage all the brand photo assets for use in stores, catalogs and site experiences. We are also responsible for the production of the print catalogs from concept to final print ready files, working together with Design, Editorial, Merchants and other cross-functional partners.

Overview of the Role

The Production Coordinator is responsible for working with the Production Assistant to process and manage the incoming photo assets, build catalog layouts, and finalize product and editorial copy through several rounds of proofs. The goal is to ensure we organize and archive our seasonal brand assets, as well as create seasonal catalogs that are beautiful, easily shoppable and on-brand. The role requires a can-do attitude, flexibility, and ongoing communication with multiple internal and external partners.

Take a leadership role to build catalog layouts in InDesign inclusive of image placement and copy.

Gather product copy for catalog spreads utilizing the brand's established paragraph/character styles. Ensure accuracy and consistency; communicate style changes to team members.

Work directly with editorial staff to ensure all editorial copy is placed and styled accordingly.

Ensure templates are consistent across catalog spreads. Build new templates as needed and distribute seasonally to photo teams.

Post proofs to gather product information. Review comments and complete requested edits throughout multiple proofing cycles; working closely with cross-functional partners-merchants, editorial and design team-to help ensure accurate information is reflected in the catalog before it goes to print.

Manage InDesign files for type release building final mechanicals for print.

Track and monitor catalog development with updates to ensure the team stays aligned throughout the process.

Assist Director with organization of seasonal tasks: tracking documents and helping to gain approvals from internal PR and external licensing partners.

Other administrative tasks as assigned.

Asset Management

Work closely with Production Assistant to create brand asset presentations for executive review and cross-channel distribution.

Coordinate retouching notes with our internal color team as needed.

Ensure all asset docs are accurate, updated with color approved images and distributed in a timely manner to all cross-channel partners.

We're excited about you because...

You have a BA/BS in Graphic Design, Graphic Communications, Fine Arts with 1 to 2 years related experience preferred.

High proficiency in Adobe InDesign in Mac OS X operating environment.

Knowledge of Photoshop and other Adobe CC applications appreciated.

Working knowledge of Figma, Airtable and Microsoft Office programs.

Must be highly detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously; able to perform under pressure within a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines.

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to adapt to new production software and systems.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to converse over a telephone

Ability to work in office and perform in corporate environment

The expected starting pay range for this position is $30 - $33/hr. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
