Job Title: Counseling - Tenure Track (2 positions)

Department: Counseling and Student SuccessJob Summary/Basic Function:Everett Community College is seeking two (2) tenure-track counselors. These positions are located in the Counseling & Student Success Department (CSS). CSS counselors are available to all EvCC students.Direct counseling duties will include:Educational, career, and short-term personal/mental counselingInterventions in urgent student situationsAcademic advising for students pursuing Human Service transfer degrees and those undecided about their program of studyInterventions for students in Satisfactory Academic Progress systemReferral to campus and community resourcesAdditional counseling duties will include:Participation in campus outreach and trainingsConsultation with faculty and staff on behalf of studentsParticipation in department meetings and projectsCase consultationCampus committee workThrough our Guided Pathways Advising model, full-time Instructional and Counseling faculty serve as program advisors for students. Faculty in these areas are assigned a caseload each year in line with the AFT Faculty Contract. These duties include, but are not limited to building and maintaining professional relationships with advisees to support them in their goals, creating, reviewing and approving academic plans; providing career and/or transfer advice; and making referrals to appropriate EvCC support services.Some counselors also teach Human Development courses in addition to their counseling position. Courses may include Career and Life Planning, Stress Management, Math Anxiety, Diversity in the Workplace etc.Minimum Qualifications:Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education or a closely related fieldCoursework to include: counseling fundamentals, counseling theory, cultural competency, career counseling, assessment/test and measurements, counseling practicum and counseling internshipCounseling experience providing educational, career, personal/mental health counselingDemonstrated experience counseling historically underserved students and communitiesExperience that demonstrates an intersectional framework for defining diversity in its broadest sense, including differences in race, gender, gender identity, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, class, religion, sexual orientation, citizenship status, disability, etc.Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated experience providing comprehensive counseling services (i.e. educational, personal/mental health and career counseling) to community college studentsDemonstrated experience responding to crises/urgent student needs and using/developing campus and community referral networksDemonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environmentDemonstrated experience offering workshops/trainings to students and/or other campus groups (i.e. faculty and staff)Demonstrated experience providing telehealth and using various technology platforms to offer counseling and advising sessions and keep records (i.e. Zoom, Doxy.Me, Titanium, Starfish, PeopleSoft, WOIS Career Planner etc.).Licensed with Washington State Department of Health (e.g., LMHC, LMFT, LSWA, LSWIC, psychologist)Bilingual or multilingualPhysical Demands:Everett Community College follows the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and provides the following information as a guideline for applicants:• Ability to operate office equipment• Ability to read and verify data and prepare various materials• Ability to exchange information on the phone or in personWork Hours:
