Assure daily functions of the treasurer’s office are executed efficiently and thoroughly in the absence of the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform Assistant Deputies responsibilities in the absence of the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer, i.e. signing Certificates of Taxes Due, checks, authorizing bank transfers as needed, reconcile daily cash, checks and warrants, keep records needed to verify balances.Balance check register, miscellaneous receipt book, warrants, checks, cash, and prepare cash tray daily.Prepare, reconcile and remit all collections and disbursements monthly.Perform general Deputy Treasurer’s duties of receiving, documenting, reporting and distributing county funds.TASKS PERFORMED BY THE POSITION:Open vault and place cash drawer.Sign documents, checks, releases and Certificates of Taxes Due in the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer’s absence.Apportion Tax A and Specific Ownership tax to the entities and collect treasurer’s fees from entities.Balance fund ledger to end of month cash statement.Post monthly interest collections from all investment accounts to appropriate funds and accounts.Issue Mobile Home Authentications certifying appropriate taxes are paid, and issue Mobile Home Moving Permits as needed.Answer phone, research back taxes as needed, receive taxpayers, receive and record tax payments on computer and post to the tax roll.Receive and receipt all money deposits made to the County.Administrate the collection of non-sufficient fund checks.Add omissions and make corrections to the tax roll.Administrate Treasurer’s Deed files.Prepare Semi-Annual Report of all County funds.Generate year end reports.Prepare Tax Sale Lists in compliance with state statutes.Balance books daily and make bank deposits daily.Distribute monthly report of taxes paid to all taxing entities.Procure office supplies as needed.Bill title companies for Certificates of Taxes Due.Process back tax redemption on tax liens.Author and type letters for Treasurer’s signature.Work well with others in a cooperative atmosphere showing respect and support.Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.Maintains website.EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE LEVEL:High School diploma or GED, plus coursework in accounting, banking or business administration. Three to five years of related experience, or a combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:Valid Colorado Driver’s License in order to operate a County vehicle.TECHNICAL SKILLS:Ability to be very accurate and to work independently and exercise sound professional judgment. Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Knowledge of the laws, regulations and procedures governing the County treasury function.WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time; hear, see, bend and lift. Must have sufficient range of motion in hands, arms, and shoulders to be able to utilize a computer keyboard and mouse. Must be able to lift a 10 pounds tax roll book on a daily basis and occasionally lift weight 25 to 30 lbs., i.e., files, large records book, computer paper, and office supplies, etc.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to County Treasurer.COMMUNICATIONS:

Communicates with all other County departments and offices.
