Duration: 3+ monthsDescription: Responsible for day-to-day administration of Linux operating systems using x86 hardware platforms. Must have the ability to interface with all Devon Infrastructure teams to ensure compatibility in design and adherence to Devon IT standards. Candidate must have advanced problem management, systems troubleshooting skills and performance tuning ability. Must have recent advanced Linux server background and experience.Extensive knowledge and experience with Red Hat Enterprise LinuxSolid experience in tuning for various databases on Linux including Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQLStrong knowledge of storage configuration using multipathing via SAN, NFS, file system management with LVMExperience with VMwareSkilled in Linux system administration, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, package management and automationFluent in systems automation tools such as Red Hat Satellite ServerStrong scripting skills using Bourne, BASH, PHP, and Python languagesStrong knowledge of Kickstart and patch management practices and methodologies in the Linux environmentStrong knowledge of SELinux and iptablesBroad knowledge of x86 server and workstations hardwareKnowledge of identity management, user account provisioning using LDAP and managing automountsExposure to project management and associated methodologiesUnderstands networking and the various associated technologiesExperience in security at an OS layer and associated controlsExperience with storage platforms from Network Appliance and HitachiExperience in performance analysis and monitoringExperience in high availability and Linux clustering is a plusExperience with SUSE Linux is a plusExperience with OpenStack and Red Hat CloudForms is a plusQualifications
B.S. Degree in Computer Science or the equivalent knowledge base through industry experience.Minimum 7+ yrs experience with Linux and associated hardware platforms.Must have RHCSA, RHCE or better preferred.Experience maintaining and supporting workstation and server class hardware.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work as part of a team or independently.Must be able to make sound decisions and escalate issues to appropriate team members.Must be flexible to work after hours and weekends if required.Open attitude towards and ability to learn and utilize new technologies.Experience participating in large enterprise projects and new technology deployments.Assertiveness and initiative to identify, investigate, and solve problems within UNIX environment.Must have the passion for continuing innovation and proactively research new technologies.Oil Industry experience a plus.Additional Information
