Lead Software Engineer (Backend Java)

We are looking for a Backend Lead Software Engineer to join our team. This position reports to a Technical Manager. You will collaborate on design with stakeholders and colleagues while leading innovations across our ecosystem.About You - experience, education, skills and accomplishmentsA bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent years of experience in the field.5+ years of Java development experience.5+ years of Spring Boot/Spring Cloud.2+ years of experience with relational databases and database design using PostgreSQL, MySQL.It would be great if you also have...Experience using ElasticSearch.Experience in Agile methodologies.Experience developing in a Linux or Windows environment.Experience with REST APIs.What will you be doing in this role?Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in accordance with coding standards.Review other code to ensure clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Define architecture of software solution.Implement software for specifications of high complexity for limited scale systems, or medium to high complexity for large-scale systems.Respond to direct or indirect customer inquiries regarding function and design and attend customer meetings.Write application technical documentation.Participate as a team member on various engineering projects and may lead small projects.Product you will be developingThe Vega Discover project, which is a very forward-thinking engagement and customer relations suite of tools for public libraries, to help library administrators reach out to and involve both their patrons and their communities with more directed and personalized interactions.About the teamThe team has been together for about 4 years with highly skilled engineers based in the USA and Europe. The project assignment will be working on the Vega Discover for our Engineering and Project Stakeholders.
