IT Systems and Cloud Administrator

We are seeking a skilled IT Systems Administrator to install, configure, and maintain our IT infrastructure. You will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our systems, supporting both on-premises and cloud environments.Essential Duties:System Management : Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage, and network devices.Performance Monitoring : Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.Documentation : Develop and maintain documentation for common recurring items.Virtualization : Manage virtualization technologies, including VMware or Hyper-V.Collaboration : Collaborate with other members of the IT team to ensure that the University's IT infrastructure is reliable, secure, and scalable.Emerging Technologies : Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in IT.Directory Services : Manage Active Directory and Entra ID, including structure, use, groups/accounts, sync processes, settings, and cleanup work.Operating Systems : Work with Windows 11 and higher OS, Windows Server 2019/2022, Linux/RedHat OS, and perform system patching as needed.Scripting and Automation : Use PowerShell for account provisioning, license assignment, script development, and automation in Azure/Office 365.Service Management : Work with Service-Now, Microsoft Office 365, and Azure.Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) : Work with Hyper-V Manager/Failover Manager, storage migration, and patching/updating support.Imaging and Deployment : Manage imaging processes, including classrooms/podiums, Deepfreeze knowledge, AVD deployment, scaling, and trading room support.Support : Provide on-call support as needed.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration.Experience with server, storage, and network device management.Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.Expertise in Windows and Linux operating systems.Advanced PowerShell scripting skills.System imaging development and deployment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.Preferred Qualifications:Intune device management, Microsoft antivirus solutions, and WSUS.Hyper-V Manager/Failover Manager and migrating storage drive/build from images.Experience with Service-Now, Microsoft Office 365, and Azure.Work Environment:Typical office setting with extensive sitting and computer work.Ability to travel within and outside of campus for meetings and other work-related events, occasionally outside of normal business hours.Lifting up to 25 pounds, sitting for extended periods, standing at walk-up counters, and carrying equipment to faculty and staff offices on campus.Required to be available for occasional after-hours support for colleagues and clients (outside of standard work hours) for resolution and troubleshooting IT issues.8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday – on site.
