Research Analyst

to support the National Intrepid Center of Excellence, located at the WRNMMC in Bethesda.

NICoE is a DoD institute dedicated to providing cutting-edge evaluation, treatment, and research for service members dealing with complex interactions of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and psychological health (PH) conditions. Incumbent will work along side the Informatics group at the NICoE which maintains a large-scale informatics database with longitudinal data for hundreds of thousands of patients that have been diagnosed with mTBI.The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike.

Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the analysis, and reporting of research studiesCollaborates with investigators and other research partners to formalize statistical analysis plans and publication goals and provides biostatistical expertise on design, analytic strategies, interpretation, and presentation of statistical results for clinical and observational research.Assists with the preparation of study documentation, such as study protocols, reports, scientific abstracts, peer reviewed manuscripts, and responses to regulatory agencies, institutional review boards, and other agencies as needed.Conducts statistical analyses of clinical trial and cohort data, including laboratory measures, using appropriate statistical software (SPSS, SAS, STATA, and/or R), and provides summaries, interpretations, and presentation of statistical results in written, tabular, and visual formats as needed to support reporting goals.Collaborates with team members and other internal or external collaborators for analytic projects or tasks as needed to ensure quality and accuracy of work. In addition, ensures that realistic deadlines are set and identifies resource needs to accomplish analytic tasks. Regularly monitors progress to ensure that critical elements are proceeding on schedule.Maintains knowledge of current and emerging trends in statistical methodology.

Qualifications

Education and ExperienceMaster's Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Biology, Neuroscience, or related field.Minimum of 3-5 years experience requiredAbility to translate complex statistical concepts to non-statistical audiences

Experience with neuroscience/ TBI research

Experience with advanced statistical methods and/or clinical trials research

Experience with CDISC, particularly SDTM or ADaMRequired Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExpertise in statistical programming including multivariable adjusted regression methods

Knowledge of statistical and mathematical software including SAS, Stata and/or R

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

Ability to make effective presentations and publish

Ability to be detail-oriented and manage multiple tasks

Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

Physical CapabilitiesAbility to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.Work EnvironmentThis position will take place primarily in a Clinic setting.CompensationThe likely salary range for this position is $73,800 - $97,000 annually. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final salary will be determined based on market analysis, experience, and education.Some HJF employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
