The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas.We are looking for highly-motivated individuals who enjoy working as part of a team in a dynamic and entrepreneurial work environment.Plains is recruiting for a Tariff Analyst in our Houston, Texas, office. In this role, you will report to the Director, Tariff Administration, and assist the team in ensuring completion of tariff administration, rate management, and tariff compliance duties as assigned. Our ideal candidate is a motivated professional who is detail-oriented and analytical. Additionally, you have the option of a hybrid work schedule, combining working in the office with working remotely.Responsibilities:Perform tariff filing activities including document preparation, tariff review, agency transmittal, electronic file maintenance, and annual index rate changes each July.Initiate entry of tariff rates into Plains’ pipeline accounting and scheduling system (VMACS). Act as tariff SME for VMACS setup team for project testing and integration of new tariff rates into VMACS.Stay abreast of tariff regulations to ensure tariff compliance and perform regulatory responsibilities for tariff subscriber updates and maintenance of Plains’ tariff website.Review pipeline commercial agreements for tariff provisions and summarize key tariff terms.Utilize analytical and quantitative skills to perform tariff analysis.Navigate industry websites, tariff documents, FERC and state regulations, and commercial agreements; provide evidence-based reports for tariff analysis projects.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in business (accounting, finance, or other related).Previous oil and gas industry experience preferred.Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines while working independently with limited supervision.Ability to effectively and diplomatically communicate and work with others, both internally and externally. Candidate must have the ability to represent tariff terms and provisions with counterparties and work closely with Pipeline Commercial, other internal groups, and Legal.Strong critical thinking skills for analysis and problem solving.Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in work production.Willing and able to develop a working knowledge of pipeline commercial operations as they relate to tariff provisions and tariff regulation.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with advanced skills in Word, Excel, and SharePoint.Ability to recognize sensitive and confidential information and maintain discretion in communicating with others.Ability to travel to industry conferences.Cleared criminal history (background) check and satisfactory reference checks.Compliance with the company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy including pre-employment testing.Valid state driver's license and driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.At Plains, our employees are our most valuable asset.
