Full-timeTalent Strategies is assisting our client for an Environmental Health & Safety/EH&S Specialist. This position will be responsible for assisting in the development, deployment and continuous improvement of environmental, health and safety management systems. This position will also ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements and initiatives for the facility.You will develop and implement EH&S programs, and provide analysis to create a complete safety culture and communicate the expectations, goals, standards, and metrics used to measure progress. You will also develop and conduct appropriate and effective health & safety training for hourly, supervisory, and management team members to enhance safety knowledge and accountability.Essential Requirements & QualificationsFour (4) year Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene and/or Safety Engineering.Minimum 3 years of experience in direct Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and/or Safety experience in a service or manufacturing environment.Applied knowledge and working understanding of Federal and County safety requirements (i.e.; OSHA), regulatory compliance, experience with inspections, incident investigations, process safety, contractor safety, EHS training, hazard reviews and job safety analysis.Strong incident investigation, root cause analysis and continuous improvement skills.Direct EH&S experience must include leading and influencing organizations.Strong leadership, communication, influencing and collaborative skills.Working knowledge of safety, industry hygiene and environmental testing methods.Analytical problem solving and decision making.Capability of initiating needed safety training initiatives.Knowledge of behavior-based safety principles.Position ResponsibilitiesSupport management’s efforts to ensure compliance with Corporate Safety Program expectations and applicable federal and state law. Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly and monthly audits.Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions.Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomic considerations, in all such efforts.Continuously support the initiative to drive and sustain OSHA VPP status (Voluntary Protection Program).Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly metrics reporting to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems.Perform and drive Safety Observations & Near Miss reporting.Train and assist others (Area Managers, Safety Team Members, etc.) to complete their Safety responsibilities (Audits, Follow Safety Rules, etc.).Facilitate / oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses, and closure of corrective actions.Establish and drive continuous improvement in the facilities industrial hygiene monitoring and record-keeping to ensure compliance with all Bosch policies and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.Create ways to keep workers and the general public safe from harm.Design safe work spaces.Inspect machines and test for faults.Investigate complaints.Reduce absenteeism and equipment downtime.Lower insurance premiums and workers' compensation payments.Prevent government fines.Conduct safety inspections.Design programs to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury.Search for and identify biological, chemical, and radiological hazards.Advise workers on proper lifting techniques.Inform an organization's management of areas not in compliance with State and Federal laws or employer policies.Advise management on the cost and effectiveness of safety and health programs.Devise and implement health programs.Provide training on new regulations.Demonstrate how to recognize hazards.Develop methods to predict hazards.Evaluate current equipment, products, facilities, or processes and those planned for future use.Uncover patterns in injury data.Evaluate the probability and severity of accidents.Competencies and QualificationsTraining, presentation, technical writing, and computer skills, as well as reading and comprehension skills.If you feel that you have the skills we require, please respond to this posting with your contact information and your resume in a Word document.
