The EH&S Specialist is responsible for implementing workplace environmental, safety, and health programs at assigned facilities to help foster a compliant operation and where Zero Harm culture is continuously embraced.Supports implementation and improvement of EH&S programs at one or more distribution facilities in the US.Collaborate with facility operational teams and EH&S staff to implement action plans, processes, and procedures to control EH&S risks and achieve compliance to the Gildan safety and environmental policies, corporate EH&S risks and achieve compliance to the Gildan safety and environmental policies, corporate EH&S guidelines, and improvement initiatives.Conducts assessments that identify hazards and reduce risk including but not limited to hazard identification, job safety analysis, risk assessments, pre-startup safety review, PPE, machine guarding, and hazardous energy.Conducts training in all aspects of EH&S to ensure compliance with legal and Gildan requirements and in a manner that positively engages employee behaviors.Collaboratively conducts incident reviews for causes and develop corrective/preventative actions.Coaches all levels of personnel on critical skills, behaviors, and techniques that builds and sustains a safety culture consistent with Gildan's values.Conducts or supports industrial hygiene evaluations sufficient to identify hazards, risks, and trends.Participates in or conducts internal audits, compliance assessments, and inspections.Supports safety programs for contractors and construction projects.Maintains EH&S documentation, records. and EH&S management information tools.Develops & implements plans to complete personal objectives that align with organizational objectives.Participates in audits/inspections by external parties such as OSHA, EPA, Property Insurance Carrier, Corporate, etc.Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.What’s in it for you?
