Monday-FridayGENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARYPrepares reconciliation and analyses activity within a variety of general ledger accounts, researches and resolves discrepancies; regularly prepares federal, state and municipal miscellaneous filings; performs general accounting maintenance functions by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReviews, records and monitors fixed asset and depreciation activity and performs reconciliation to general accounts to maintain accurate accounting and reporting records; communicates with appropriate bank personnel to research and resolve discrepancies; prepares fixed assets related property tax returns and government surveys.Reconciles and analyzes general ledger activity in assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure proper transaction recording to include assets, capital leases, notes payable, expense reserves, various liabilities, shareholder equity and other accounts.Develops and maintains project-in-process spreadsheets and reconciles balances to general ledger accounts; analyzes and records proper expense treatments of project expenditures; communicates project status to appropriate bank personnel; ensures compliance with approved budgets.Prepares sales tax returns, business license renewals, regulatory assessments and other regular federal, state and municipal filings for management review and approval; serves as backup for various accounting duties while adhering to appropriate segregation of duties outlined in bank adopted internal controls.Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance related field or four years accounting, financial industry, or related experience required; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.Preferred:

Minimums plus fixed assets accounting experience.SKILLS and ABILITIES:Ability to keyboard 35 wpm and operate a 10-key calculator by touch required. Word processing and spreadsheet software experience required.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and to respond to management and bank employees.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.REASONING SKILLS:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to perform an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract variables.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
