The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices.JOB SUMMARYThe Director of Sales is responsible for leading the Sales and Catering team to optimize revenue opportunities for the property.CORE RESPONSIBILITIESDirect and lead Sales Team, providing supervision, professional development, and coaching.Organize departmental activities including prospecting and qualifying potential leads.Negotiate guest room rates and hotel services within approved guidelines.Review Turnover Packets for accuracy.Guide the process of definite contracts and route information appropriately.Close/review all outstanding group folios before month end.Review and respond to Event Satisfaction Surveys.Forecast and budget group rooms and catering revenues.Identify Group and Catering need periods and create action plans.Develop target lists for account solicitation and manage account details.Conduct tours of property for potential customers.Maintain accurate records of sales accounts.Develop relationships with competitive set and participate in community organizations.Prepare monthly Executive Summary of Sales and Catering Revenues and Expenses.Analyze competition and customer needs to assess productivity.Maximize revenue by selling all hotel facets.Conduct One-on-One’s with direct reports.Participate in revenue meetings and prepare for required meetings.Travel as required for customer events and trade shows.Recruit, interview, and onboard Sales and Catering staff.Actively participate in property meetings.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMarriott Sales Experience (CITY trained) – highly preferred.Hospitality or related industry experience – required.Valid Driver’s License – required.Knowledgeable of Top-Accounts for the Hotel – preferred.This company is an equal opportunity employer.
