Staffing Coordinator

As Staffing Coordinator, you have delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.

Job Summary: The primary purpose of your job position is to oversee the scheduling responsibilities of the nursing department by state and federal regulations and to make sure that nursing staff is at optimal on a daily basis making sure the needs of the residents are met.

Responsibilities

Work with Human Resources to determine the number and level of personnel to be employed in the nursing department and make recommendations.

Plan, develop, and post monthly staff schedules for the nursing department in order to achieve planned staffing goals, productivity per hour, and cost.

Receive call-ins for the nursing department and cover positions as needed.

Print daily scheduling from On-shift of nursing staff and assign them to neighborhoods.

Make adjustments as needed.

Post employee’s monthly schedules at least two weeks in advance.

Schedule make-ups for employees who have missed a weekend.

Check punches on daily basis to ensure the employees time in and out are correct.

Approve overtime hours for nursing department.

Complete and record attendance sheets for absences, leave earlies, and tardies.

Input absences, leave earlies, tardies, missed punches, and PTO time in the computer.

Document employee’s change in status and notify Payroll and Human resources.

Assign NCNP’s to accompany residents to medical appointments outside the facility.

Keep and maintain a listing of employee’s phone numbers.

Present in counseling/disciplinary actions as requested, or as necessary.

Assist in the interviewing process to ensure staffing needs are efficiently being met.

Serve on various facility committees as directed by the Director of Nursing.

Assist with monitoring worker’s compensation claims.

Complete Post-Accident Investigation Report.

Track and record missed hours and alternate duty hours for worker’s compensation.

Complete alternate duty forms and assign staff accordingly.

Field complaints to Resident Care Coordinators, Director of Nursing, or Assistant Director of Nursing.

Assist with scanning from medical records as time allows.

Qualifications

Must have at least a High School Diploma or GED

Confirmed leadership and interpersonal skills as well as flexibility and while working within of a high standard of stress

You are passionate, ambitious, eager to improve and computer-literate
